Toy Association Shares Eco-Friendly Playthings with Viewers for Earth Day

eco-friendly-segmentApril 22, 2022 | It’s never too early to teach kids the importance of sustainability, and The Toy Association celebrated Earth Day this year by highlighting toys from member companies that are helping instill this messaging while reducing their own carbon footprints.

Members of The Toy Association’s trends team appeared on Good Day Philadelphia and Good Day Sacramento to discuss a few eco-friendly playthings to look out for on shelves. Featured products ranged from toys made of recycled and bio-based plastics and FSC-certified wood to toys made locally in the U.S. and those that encourage greener lifestyles.

“For families looking to live more sustainably, many of today’s toys not only serve as examples of businesses doing good for the planet but also encourage kids to explore their own natural habitats and adopt more eco-friendly habits,” said Adrienne Appell, executive vice president of marketing communications at The Toy Association. “Playtime is the perfect time to help kids become more eco-conscious while having fun.”

The Toy Association continues to seek new products for upcoming media opportunities. Toys and games may be submitted to The Toy Association’s trends database for consideration. If selected, shipping instructions will be provided. Preference will be given to Toy Association members. For additional information, contact Jennifer Lynch.
