Toy Fair to Host U.S. Market Research Seminars

November 15, 2021 | Toy Fair New York attendees will have the opportunity to learn about U.S. child population trends, U.S. consumer behavior, and data forecasting how kids will spend their money in 2022 during two market research sessions at the February show. Hosted by The Toy Association’s “Knowledge Network,” both seminars will take place in the “Theatre on Three” at the Javits Center.

In “The American Kid Consumer,” taking place Sunday, February 20 at 12:20 p.m., Kidz Global CEO Philippe Guinaudeau will discuss U.S. child population trends, consumer behavior, and holiday shopping trends to help toy companies understand how best to position their product lines. The session will also include relevant insights into kids’ daily routines and their digital activities, play trends, popular entertainment brands among kids, pocket money trends, and more.

The following day (Monday, February 21) at 12:20 p.m., The Insights Family will present “Introducing…The Class of ’22,” using its trend data to forecast how kids will spend time and money in 2022 and how that will impact toy purchasing habits. Presented by The Insights Family’s CEO Nick Richardson, the session will also cover demographic, societal, and educational factors as well as core play trends. The research will specifically focus on kids leaving Kindergarten (age 5) and elementary school (age 10) to see how their worlds have changed.

“From the content kids are consuming to where they are choosing to spend their hard-earned pocket money, these sessions will give companies the data and insights they need to successfully market their products to today’s young consumers and come out ahead in the competitive U.S. marketplace,” said Anne McConnell, senior director of market research & data strategy at The Toy Association and moderator for the sessions.

The Market Research sessions are free to all Toy Fair attendees.

Toy Fair will take place February 19 to 22, 2022 at the Javits Center in New York City. Visit for up-to-the minute details on exhibitor listings, educational sessions, hotels, COVID-19 safety requirements, and more.
