#ToyFairLife Taps into Spirit of the Toy Community

toy-fair-lifeFebruary 16, 2021 | Over the past week, the toy community has taken to social media to share their favorite Toy Fair New York moments of the past, proving the passion for play — despite the lack of a physical show — is alive and well.

From inventors and designers to toy manufacturers, journalists, online influencers, and more, industry stakeholders used the #ToyFairLife hashtag to share their favorite Toy Fair memories and highlight memorable events held during Toy Fair week, including the Toy of the Year awards, the opening ceremony, various after-hours events, and more. Since last Tuesday, when the #ToyFairLife campaign was announced, the hashtag was used in hundreds of posts across LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. #ToyFairLife reached more than 22,000 people on LinkedIn alone.

Some of the most engaging posts highlighted how long people have been attending Toy Fair NY and our mutual desire to get back to business in 2022. But perhaps best encapsulating how many felt scrolling through their newsfeeds was this post shared by Azhelle Wade, The Toy Coach and creator of Toy Creators Academy:

“Although we couldn’t be together in person this year, the power of social media enables us to tap into the spirit of celebrating this industry,” said Marian Bossard, executive vice president of global market events at The Toy Association. “Additionally, #ToyFairLife has demonstrated the critical role that face-to-face events like Toy Fair will continue to serve in the future and the importance of human connection. Going forward, The Toy Association will continue to look at these additional ways to keep the industry connected, just as we’ve done with our now year-round Toy Fair Everywhere platform.”

The global toy industry will come together once again next year at the 119th Toy Fair New York, taking place one week later from Saturday, February 19 to Tuesday, February 22 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
