The Canadian Toy Association (CTA) has launched its 15th annual Toys for the North fundraising campaign, calling on Canada’s toy manufacturing and distribution community to donate toys for children living in some of the country’s most northern and remote regions. Donations will be accepted through November 25.

CTA is asking all companies involved in the sales, manufacturing, and distribution of toys to contribute non-battery-powered products, as many northern communities face challenges accessing or affording batteries. This year, the CTA aims to make Toys for the North its biggest charitable drive yet, with a goal to surpass last year’s record of $615,043 in donations — equivalent to 28,111 brand-new toys provided by member companies.

Each year, participating partners collect, fly, and ground-transport thousands of toys to communities that often cannot access or afford children’s gifts during the holiday season. The 100% volunteer-run initiative — supported by CTA, Thomson Terminals, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the RCMP Veterans’ Association, Canadian Forces 8 Wing CFB Trenton, and Thunder Bay RCMP partners North Star Air Ltd. and Gardewine —delivers toys to families in need across parts of Labrador, Manitoba, Nunavut, and Ontario.

Completed donation forms should be emailed to info@canadiantoyassociation.ca by Wednesday, November 25. All donations will be collected or shipped to Thomson Terminals by Friday, November 28.

Founded in 1932, the Canadian Toy Association (CTA) is a not-for-profit trade association representing all businesses involved in creating and delivering toys and youth entertainment products for kids of all ages.
