20 Years of TOTY! Buy Tickets Now for a Night to Remember
December 2, 2019 | Tickets are now on sale for the 20th Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards ceremony, which unveils the industry’s top toys, games, and properties across 16 categories, and honors the newest inductees into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame – Thomas Chan, founder & CEO of Playmates Toys Inc., Thomas G. Murdough, Jr.; founder of Little Tikes, Step2, and Simplay3; and the late Harry Kislevitz, founder of Colorforms Corporation.
The gala will take place on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City. The TOTY Awards program and event serve as an essential fundraiser for The Toy Foundation, which has aided more than 26 million children in need around the world since 2003 through its signature program, The Toy Bank.
In addition to celebrating the best in play across 16 categories, one product will also be crowned the People’s Choice Award, based solely on consumer votes. Another will win the coveted overall Toy of the Year Award, selected by retailers, journalists, and Toy Association members.
"Join us for an unforgettable evening that celebrates the creativity, hard work, excellence, and philanthropy that shape the toy and kids’ entertainment industries," said Ken Seiter, executive vice president of marketing communications at The Toy Association. "With opportunities to network both before and after the TOTY Awards, it will be a night to remember."
Here are the details for this year’s TOTY Awards gala:
- The cocktail networking reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres, followed by a plated dinner and dessert served during the award ceremony. Guests will be treated to live entertainment and a special tribute to The Toy Foundation.
- Following the ceremony, a celebratory networking afterparty will be held from 9:30 to 11 p.m.
- Tickets for the entire evening cost $450 per person ($4,500 per 10-person table). Guests may also purchase tickets for the afterparty only for $95.
The event kicks off the 117th annual Toy Fair New York, held February 22 to 25 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. To reserve tickets or tables, interested parties may register online. The Toy Association reserves the right to close ticket sales prior to February 10 if the TOTY Gala reaches capacity. Afterparty tickets will still be available for purchase.
